The other superstar of comic publishers, MARVEL, has also been around since the 1930s. It went through a couple of name changes, first introducing the name Marvel in 1961.

Marvel is home to the other best known heroes and characters of the comic world. Spiderman, Wolverine and the X-Men, Fantastic Four, the Hulk (you won't like me when I'm angry!) and there are so many more.

Marvel has overtaken their main competitor DC as the largest American comic publisher, which I reckon is largely due to their highly successful merchandising skills and promotion of the other branches of their entertainment (movies etc).
